Student athletes completed another great semester of sportsmanship, training and competition under the direction of the Catholic Youth Organization. The organization manages 170 Catholic elementary schools throughout the Archdiocese of Los Angeles.

The hard-fought championship in girls’ volleyball went to St. Anastasia in Westchester. American Martyrs in Manhattan Beach, St. Paul the Apostle in Westwood and St. Martin of Tours in Brentwood came in second, third and fourth place, respectively.

American Martyrs of Manhattan Beach carried away the championship title for flag football. St. Charles Borromeo in North Hollywood, St. Cornelius in Long Beach and Corpus Christi in Pacific Palisades were the runner-up teams.

Students in grades 3 to 8 were able to participate in the fall semester that also included cross-country, golf and bowling.
