J.Serra, St. Francis, and Crespi won their quarterfinal matches Nov. 9 to join Loyola in this week’s semifinals of the CIF-SS boys’ water polo playoffs.
Top-seeded J.Serra (25-5) beat No. 8 El Segundo 14-10 in a Division 4 quarterfinal, and will play No. 5 Pacifica of Garden Grove (28-1).
No. 2 St. Francis (28-3) got by No. 7 Burroughs of Burbank 9-8, and will play No. 3 Trabuco Hills (18-7) in the D-5 semis.
In D-6, No. 1 Crespi (19-11) dominated No. 8 South Torrance 16-8, and will play No. 4 Los Altos of Hacienda Heights (20-10).
In Division 3, fifth-seeded Notre Dame of Sherman Oaks just missed advancing when it was edged 8-7 by No. 4 Beckman.
Earlier last week, No. 3 Loyola (24-5) qualified for the D-1 semis against No. 2 Newport Harbor (24-3) in the semifinals on Nov. 13. Finals in all divisions are Nov. 16.
