Six Catholic school teams have advanced to the quarterfinals of the CIF-Southern Section Baseball Tournament after second round victories May 7.
Santa Margarita (Division 2), Serra (D-3), Mary Star (D-4), Salesian (D-5), St. Anthony (D-6) and Don Bosco Tech (D-7) will be in action May 10. All are seeking to become the first Catholic school CIF-SS baseball champion since Santa Margarita (D-1) and Bishop Amat (D-3) won titles in 2014 (La Salle was D-3 runner-up in 2018).

In addition to Bishop Amat and Santa Margarita, Catholic school CIF-SS baseball champions in the past decade include Crespi (D-2, 2009), Mater Dei (D-1, 2010), Bishop Amat (D-4, 2011) and Serra (D-3, 2013). Besides La Salle last year, recent Catholic school CIF-SS runners-up are Paraclete (D-5, 2012), St. Anthony (D-6, 2015) and Cantwell-Sacred Heart (D-5, 2016).
