The St. Francis de Sales Choir and Wagner Ensemble will present a rare performance of the “Requiem Mass in C Minor” on Nov. 7 at 7 p.m.

The full-orchestra concert will take place in the St. Francis de Sales Church sanctuary with a reception to follow in the St. Francis de Sales School Auditorium. The Requiem was written by Cherubini in 1815, and was first performed the following year to commemorate the life of Louis XVI of France on the 23rd anniversary of his beheading during the French Revolution.

Founded in 1949, the St. Francis de Sales Choir is one of the leading church choral groups in Southern California. Throughout the years, choir membership has included singers from the Los Angeles Opera, Los Angeles Master Chorale and Independent Opera Company.

General Admission tickets are $15. The event is located at St. Francis de Sales Church, 13360 Valleyheart Drive, Sherman Oaks. For more information, please call (818) 342-5233 or visit sfdschoir.org.
