The Martin Luther King Prayer Breakfast will take place Jan. 14 at 8 a.m. at the Double Tree by Hilton Hotel in Culver City. The event will take place during the Martin Luther King weekend before the federal holiday on Jan. 16.
The African American Catholic Center for Evangelization in Los Angeles will host the event, which will feature Father Michael Thompson as guest speaker.
The superior general of the Josephite Fathers in Baltimore, Father Thompson serves the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, but has also served as a pastor in churches in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, a city that garnered media attention after the shooting of Alton Sterling.
