The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) will host Southern California’s first annual “Run to Remember” race in honor of fallen law enforcement officers and first responders. The half marathon and 10K race will take place Jan. 24 at 7 a.m. at the Grove.

The LAPD officers decided to organize their own “Run to Remember” event after participating in Boston’s race by the same name. The Boston Police Department and Boston Police Runner’s Club have hosted the races for 11 years.

The race organizers hope to attract 4,000 runners from the general public, law enforcement, and first responder agencies throughout the West Coast.

The Los Angeles race will begin and end at the Grove, with a special midpoint run through Paramount Pictures’ famous New York City back lot. The event will begin at 189 The Grove Dr., Los Angeles.
