Some Catholic schools of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles will be closed due to multiple fires affecting thousands in the Greater Los Angeles area.

The Department of Catholic Schools (DCS) for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles announced the following Catholic school closures for Friday, November 1, due to the fires:

Elementary Schools

Holy Cross (Ventura)
Our Lady of Guadalupe (Oxnard)
St. Sebastian (Santa Paula)
Santa Clara (Oxnard)
St. Anthony (Oxnard)

High Schools

St. Bonaventure (Ventura)
Santa Clara (Oxnard)

"Our prayers are with all those who are impacted or harmed by the fires, especially families who are evacuated and for the firefighters, police and others working to keep people safe," said the Archdiocese in a statement released to media.

The list of closures will be updated as schools report closures to DCS. Schools are informing parents directly of any school closures. Updates on closures are also being announced on Catholic Schools' social media channels, including Facebook and Twitter. Parents with any questions regarding the closures are asked to contact the student’s school main office.
