The Archdiocese of Los Angeles joined dioceses across the country for the National Call-In Day to Protect Dreamers yesterday, Feb. 26.

The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops designated the day as an opportunity for the Church to express support for those young people known as Dreamers, who came to the U.S. as minors and are now at risk of deportation from the only home they have ever known due to the termination of the DACA program on March 5.

A Mass dedicated to Dreamers was celebrated at Our Lady Queen of Angels Parish (“La Placita” Church) and included testimonials from Dreamers.

Immigration information was available at a booth on the church’s plaza, where people were also able to make calls directly to their Representatives and Senators.
