On May 11, a dinner will be held to recognize the more than 200 volunteers who contributed to Catholic Charities’ success in the San Gabriel region.

The 31st annual volunteer recognition dinner will also honor Father Richard Danyluk, SSCC, administrator at Holy Name of Mary Parish, and members of the Dan Murphy Foundation for their work with Catholic Charities.

This year, the Catholic Charities’ San Gabriel Region was able to prevent a food pantry shortage when necessary funding was delayed. Board members organized food drives in schools along with other initiatives. The second month of the initiative brought in more than 500 pounds of food items, allowing the group to again reach its goal that “no child goes hungry in the San Gabriel Valley.”

The San Gabriel chapter serves more than 25,000 homeless and low-income community members by providing clothing, transportation and temporary shelter, among other services, to the needy. More than 6,000 children benefit from the organization’s program to end poverty.

Tickets to the fundraiser are $100 per person. Sponsorship and tribute book opportunities are available. Proceeds from the event will support Catholic Charities.

The event is located at Quiet Cannon Montebello, 901 N Via San Clemente, Montebello. For more information, please contact Mary Romero, regional director, at (323) 266-3130 or [email protected].
