Among over 30 volunteers who supported the Eagle Project of Eric Siegel, Class of 2016, on Labor Day weekend were four Crespi students, who helped transform a seating area and landscaping at the Heroes Golf Course on the West LA-VA grounds.
Seniors Jacob LaCava and Nick Cali, and juniors Siegel, Daniel LaCava and James Reese dug out a dead tree stump to install a birdbath and garden, built planting beds edging the patio using water-wise plants, and refinished and set up new patio furniture. Ricardo Bandini, whose family donated the property and heads the foundation that operates Heroes Golf Course, marveled at what the team accomplished.
“I set out to create an area for the veterans to gather, relax, and enjoy themselves,” said Siegel. “I hope the new seating area will show our appreciation to the veterans for their service and sacrifice.”
