Archbishop José H. Gomez offered a blessing for the Catholic Community Foundation of Los Angeles (CCF-LA) at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels on May 30.
On May 30, Archbishop José H. Gomez blessed the ongoing efforts of the Catholic Community Foundation of Los Angeles (CCF-LA), which has provided food to the hungry, shelter to the homeless and quality Catholic education to children from low-income families for the last two years.
The organization, established in 2015 to support the mission of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, has more than $200 million in assets and no debt. Last year, the foundation made 209 grants totaling $41.2 million to 83 organizations. This year, the foundation is redoubling its efforts, pivoting toward an aggressive, targeted expansion of its donor base and core service offerings.
During a ceremony at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels in downtown Los Angeles, Archbishop Gomez gave the foundation members a special blessing, while acknowledging the work of the board of directors, chairman William M. Wardlaw and executive director Kathy Anderson.
