Catholic Big Brothers Big Sisters (CBBBS) will be holding their Champions for Youth Gala on Thursday, May 31.

The gala, which benefits youth mentoring in Los Angeles, will feature cocktails, a silent auction, dinner and awards. Long time board member and supporter Kevin Shannon, of Newmark Knight Frank, is being honored. Youth and volunteers within the program will also be recognized.

All proceeds from the gala will benefit CBBBS’ award-winning mentoring programs, which have greatly benefited the youth of Los Angeles in countless ways.

Catholic Big Brothers Big Sisters is part of the national Big Brothers Big Sisters Network, and is one of the oldest mentoring programs in Southern California. They boast an “Average Match Length” for mentoring pairs of 34.9 months, significantly above the national average of 28.4 months.

CBBBS helps children in Los Angeles of all beliefs and backgrounds succeed in school and beyond the classroom in their personal lives. Through their mentoring programs like Junior Partners, Live Big and Bigs with Badges, CBBBS provides one-on-one relationships for children that can change their lives for the better.
