More than 150 Dignity Health employees and volunteers served nearly 1,000 traditional Thanksgiving meals, complete with turkey and all the trimmings, to community members in need during two annual events on Nov. 21 and Nov. 22 at St. Bernardine Medical Center’s Family Focus Center and at Community Hospital of San Bernardino.

During the festivities, participating families also had the opportunity to select a free jacket or sweater donated through the two hospitals’ annual “Share the Warmth” jacket drive. In addition, adults also had the opportunity to receive a free flu vaccination and nearly 150 large food baskets and “dinners to go” were distributed to families in need.

“For 22 years, our Thanksgiving outreach has been part of our ministry in San Bernardino demonstrating how we live out our core values of dignity, collaboration and justice,” said Linda McDonald, Dignity Health Southern California Service Area Vice President of Mission Integration. “We care about the communities that we serve and this is just one of the ways that we show it.”
