Who abandoned whom?

Did U.S. politics abandon Catholics in 2024? Perhaps we should ask whether Western culture in general, and progressive theologians in particular, abandoned authentic Catholicism in the 1960s. The undeniable revolution permeates our current moral sensibilities six decades later.
