Thisrnyear, two young women from Catholic high schools in the Archdiocese of LosrnAngeles have been awarded scholarships from the Lucille Rader EducationrnFoundation.

AshleyrnLizana, a senior at St. Joseph’s High School in Lakewood, will receive $40,000rnto attend the University of Notre Dame in the fall. Rebecca Doyle, a senior atrnImmaculate Heart High School in Los Angeles, will be attending GonzagarnUniversity with a $40,000 award.

ThernLucille Rader Education Foundation, founded by Dr. Lucille Rader, honors femalernstudent athletes at Catholic schools in the Archdiocese who demonstraternacademic excellence and outstanding character with scholarships for theirrncontinued education. The late Dr. Rader was an Immaculate Heart nun and anrneducator for 57 years, and her determination to assist young Catholic women inrntheir college careers lives on through the work of her foundation.
