Alsornin D-4, Providence of Burbank rose from ninth to seventh. Elsewhere in boys’rnvolleyball, Loyola remained third and Alemany ninth in D-1; Bishop Montgomeryrnrose from seventh to sixth in D-2; and Damien dipped from eighth to ninth inrnD-3.
Inrnbaseball, Notre Dame of Sherman Oaks (16-2) rebounded after a pair of losses tornclimb from sixth to third in the Division 1 poll. The Knights began a crucialrnthree-game series April 17 with co-Mission League leader Harvard-Westlakern(14-3), ranked second in D-1; both teams are 6-0 in league play.
J.Serrarn(12-5 entering this week) remained fifth in D-1, after winning two of threernfrom Servite last week. Nationally, J. Serra is eighth in Maxpreps’ ComputerrnRankings, with Notre Dame 25th.
MaryrnStar rose to sixth (from ninth) in Division 5.
Inrnsoftball, San Gabriel Mission posted the biggest jump, placing sixth in thernDivision 7 poll, while former No. 1 Santa Clara is now second after two leaguernlosses last week, including a 5-4 defeat at the hands of rival St. Bonaventure.rnSt. Mary’s Academy fell from fourth to seventh, and Marymount from fifth torntenth.
ThernDivision 1 top 10 finds Trinity League rivals Mater Dei (16-4) still sixth andrnSanta Margarita (17-2) still eighth, after the Monarchs prevailed 7-2 in theirrnApril 10 contest. The teams meet again April 27 in Santa Ana, with Mater Deirnset to face league leader Orange Lutheran (20-2), D-1’s No. 2 team, on Aprilrn20.
InrnD-5, La Reina returned to the top 10 at No. 6, while Chaminade remains eighth.
