The faithful departed, especially those who lost their lives during the recent tragic events in Paris, France, will be remembered and honored during the All Souls Evening Prayer Service and Concert at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels, 5 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 22.

Conducted by Frank Brownstead, director of music of the cathedral, the concert will feature the Fauré Requiem — a masterwork for organ and chorus by French composer Gabriel Faure — interpreted by Cathedral’s organist Samuel Soria, and the Cathedral’s Choir. The concert will begin at 5:30 p.m.

“During the month of November, we remember our loved ones who have died,” said Brownstead, the cathedral’s choir director for the past 13 years. “Scripture tells us that they are at rest and music helps us to stop our busy lives and remember that God’s love is eternal.”

After the concert, the choir will process to the mausoleum, followed by all who wish to visit their friends and family buried there.

The event is free and open to the general public.
