Puddles and cloudy skies didn’t stop the sisters of Notre Dame from lining up, along with about 500 others, for the fifth annual Nun Run 5K, 1-Mile Fun Run, and Community Service Fair, hosted with La Reina Middle and High School in Thousand Oaks.

Despite the rain, runners and walkers of all ages came out to participate. The course ran from Dover Avenue and finished in front of La Reina’s campus. Finishers received medals and got plates for a post-race pancake breakfast.

The community service fair ran throughout the day, with the theme “On the Move for Good.” Representatives from various non-profits in Ventura and Los Angeles shared their missions, programs, and volunteer opportunities.
