On Aug. 21, St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy (PMA) in Downey hosted a groundbreaking ceremony, marking the beginning of construction on a football stadium, softball field and other campus renovations.
The school’s plan to upgrade its athletic and learning facilities will bring football back to the campus and provide better resources for the school’s growing student body.
The plans include landscaping, the renovation of a campus residence and the modernization of select classrooms. The new stadium will seat 2,200 spectators on each side, and will feature snack bar facilities, restrooms and parking.
