Sister of the Holy Cross Lillian (M. Robert Anita) Sullivan, a product of Ventura, will be honored July 20, during a jubilee celebration in the Church of Our Lady of Loretto at Saint Mary’s, Notre Dame, Ind., for her 50 years of consecrated life.

Born in Glendale, Sister Sullivan and her family moved to Ventura, where she was taught by the Sisters of the Holy Cross. After graduating from the Academy of Saint Catherine, she entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross from Mission San Buenaventura parish in September 1961. She made her first profession of vows on Aug. 15, 1964, and her perpetual profession on August 15, 1969.   

Sister Sullivan taught in elementary and junior high schools in the West until 1984 when she moved to Cedar City, Utah, to work in parish ministry. From 1988 until 1992, and again in 1996, she served at Mater Ecclesiae Center in Tiberius, Israel, where the Sisters of the Holy Cross established a formation program for religious from Asia and Africa. Today she is a teacher and librarian at St. Paul’s National Major Seminary in Fort Portal, Uganda.
