With the girl’s volleyball season coming into the final two weeks, much is left to be determined.

Diocesan teams Marymount and Bishop Montgomery are both in position to win their respective leagues, but Flintridge-Sacred Heart looks to spoil their run at a CIF-SS title. Here are some things to watch for in the playoffs:

› In Division 1AA, Marymount (Los Angeles) and Flintridge Sacred Heart (La Canada) will both make runs at the title. However, Lakewood stands in their way with a 28-2 record.

Luckily for Flintridge Sacred Heart, they were one of the two teams to hand Lakewood a loss, which gives them a slight advantage in the race. Marymount beat Flintridge Sacred Heart, however, so this race will come down to the wire.

Prediction: Flintridge Sacred Heart brings home the D1AA title, and receives an invite to the state championships.

› St. Lucy’s (Glendora) is the only diocesan school in competition for the D1A title. But their road will definitely be a tough one. With three of the top 10 squads in California in the same division, the CIF-SS D1A title will be an uphill battle for St. Lucy’s.

Prediction: St Lucy’s falls short of the title, and Santiago (Corona) takes the title.

› D2A’s top team, Louisville (Woodland Hills), looks to be the favorite to take the D2A title. This would be a dramatic turnaround for a squad who did not even make the playoffs last year. Louisville has only lost one set in league play, leading to an undefeated record.

Prediction: Louisville wins the D2A title.

› St. Paul (Santa Fe Springs) and La Reina (Thousand Oaks) are in a tight race in Division 4AA. St. Paul has yet to drop a set in league play. La Reina has gone undefeated in league play as well, making this a tight race to the finish. However, Alta Loma is arguably the best team in the division, and will prove to be the toughest matchup for St. Paul and La Reina.

Prediction: Despite valiant efforts by La Reina and St. Paul, Alta Loma will take the D4AA title.
