On May 3, Los Angeles Auxiliary Bishop Joseph Brennan celebrated the annual Mass for the Day of the Holy Cross (Día de la Santa Cruz) at Our Lady of the Angels (La Placita). The Spanish Mass is held each year in recognition of the contributions of construction workers and laborers.
were encouraged to bring crosses, which Bishop Brennan blessed as part of the
ceremony. These crosses will be displayed at job sites throughout the Archdiocese.
Día de la Santa Cruz draws its roots from Saint Helena, the mother of Constantine I, and her quest for the true cross on which Jesus was crucified.
