On Aug. 28, St. Augustine School in Culver City celebrated its 90th anniversary Mass at the church and held an open-door event for the community. The event, themed “Works of Mercy, Vision of Hope,” was held on the Feast of St. Augustine.
Established in 1926 by the Daughters of Mary and Joseph, the school collaborates with Harvard University’s Think Tank for Global Education (TGE), which allows the school to offer a unique curricular design process geared towards global competence.
School principal Beate Nguyen said in a press release that the school teaches the Catholic Church’s teachings on social justice in order to anchor the students’ “decision-making process in their faith, respect, human dignity, integrity, digital agility and problem-solving skills.”
