St. Bernadette Parish will host a special screening of the documentary  “Sisters of Selma: Bearing Witness for Change,” 3-5 p.m., 3825 Don Felipe Drive. The film’s director, Jayasri Majumdar Hart, will be in attendance and will lead a discussion after the screening.

“Sisters of Selma” tells the story of a group of St. Louis nuns who had the courage to stand up to the mistreatment of their fellow man. Jim Crow laws had enforced segregation, including in Selma, Ala., where local laws had all but prevented its black citizens from voting for decades. A group of nuns from St. Louis were among the first to protest the violence.
