The Sisters of Notre Dame’s Life and Ministry Fund will host their second annual Nun Run, a 5K and 1-mile fun run, on Feb. 6 at 8 a.m. in Thousand Oaks.
Proceeds from the event will allow the sisters to continue their many ministries in Los Angeles and Ventura. La Reina High School and Middle School in Thousand Oaks will co-sponsor the event.
Runners and walkers of all ages and ability are encouraged to participate in the event, which will begin on Dover Ave. in Thousand Oaks, and will finish in front of La Reina High School and Middle School.
Following the race, each participant will receive a free T-shirt, special sponsor offers and a pancake breakfast. Pre-registration for the 5K is $35 and pre-registration for the 1-mile is $25.
Last year, the Nun Run raised more than $30,000 for the fund with about 900 runners and volunteers participating. The Sisters of Notre Dame have served in California for more than 90 years.
