Attendance at the ninth annual Los Angeles Catholic Prayer Breakfast on Sept. 17 will break the previous record, with more than 1,600 guests already registered for the event at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels.Attendance is also expected to be high for the Matthew Kelly Youth Rally — “Cool 2b Catholic” on Sept. 16. More than 1,200 youth from Southern California have already requested free tickets to the rally, to be held 4-6 p.m. on the Cathedral Plaza.The rally will begin with a performance by Catholic rapper Joe Melendez, followed by an inspirational session with Kelly, the well-known motivational speaker, author and founder of the Dynamic Catholic Institute. Tickets for the rally (required for admission) must be requested by Sept. 6. The Sept. 17 Prayer Breakfast begins with the recitation of the Rosary at 6:30 a.m., followed by Mass at 7 a.m. and the breakfast presentation and keynote talk at 8 a.m. on the Cathedral Plaza.Parking at the Cathedral is limited ($5 per car as available).
