Protect your family: Airbag recall for Southern California

Vehicle manufacturers are conducting the largest safety recall in U.S. history after 11 people died from defective airbags that exploded like “grenades, spraying metal shrapnel inside the passenger compartment,” according to a news release from the U.S. Department of Transportation.

This recall is particularly urgent for drivers in Southern California because prolonged exposure to high heat and humid conditions over time can make the defect even worse. Replacement parts are currently available for the highest risk vehicles, including 2001 and 2002 Honda Civics and Accords, the 2002 and 2003 Acura TL, the 2002 Honda Odyssey and CR-V, the 2003 Acura CL and the 2003 Honda Pilot.

Any required repairs for a defective vehicle are completely free. Car owners are asked to check their car’s risk of defect online by going to airbagrecall.com
