Among the million-plus young pilgrims from around the world who o assembled Aug. 16-21 in Madrid to celebrate World Youth Day 2011 were several hundred from Los Angeles area parishes, who (as these photos suggest) clearly enjoyed their experience celebrating faith with their peers from around the world. Some participated in an impromptu folk dance lesson in Avila, with youth from Poland; others made friends with visitors from Australia while waiting for the Stations of the Cross; and some from St. Marcellinus and St. Anthony parishes took a break while waiting for the Stations of the Cross to begin.{gallery width=100 height=100}gallery/2011/0826/wydback/{/gallery}
