Visiting from the Basilica-Cathedral of the Diocese of San Juan de los Lagos in Jalisco, Mexico, the pilgrimage image of Our Lady of San Juan de los Lagos is being venerated by the faithful of the Southland.

Its pilgrimage in Southern California started Oct. 3-6 at Resurrection Church in East Los Angeles. Its other visits: Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Los Nietos (Oct. 7-10); St. Catherine of Siena, Rialto (Oct. 10-14); and Our Lady of Solitude, Palm Springs (Oct. 15-20).

Drawing about six million visitors annually to its shrine in San Juan de los Lagos, the “Peregrina” (traveling) image is considered the second most visited image in Mexico after the image of the Virgin of Guadalupe in Mexico City.
