On Feb. 20 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., local healthcare programs will partner together to offer free comprehensive health screenings for children and adults in East Los Angeles.
A team of medical and dental providers will provide free medical exams, routine blood work, dental fillings and dental extractions. Free food and drinks will also be provided, along with games and activities for children.
“With this special event, we want to ensure that everyone in the community has the opportunity to receive basic medical and dental care without cost,” said Scott Reid, president of the Alignment Covenant, the nonprofit foundation of Alignment Healthcare.
Lisa Abdishoo, M.D., president and CEO of Los Angeles Christian Health Centers, said the free screenings provide a way for community members to become aware of their health status and learn about preventative measures. “It is important to know your numbers and how you can improve your overall health and wellness.”
