The Archdiocese of Los Angeles will host the second annual celebration of OneLife LA, an event that highlights the beauty of every human life, from conception to natural death.  The event stresses the Catholic Church’s pro-life message, including issues of adoption, suicide, domestic abuse and human trafficking.

The event will take place on Jan. 23 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., beginning at La Placita Olvera, followed by a walk up Temple St., across Grand Ave. and down 1st St. The event will culminate at 1:30 p.m. in a family-friendly picnic with music, entertainment, food trucks and exhibits from community organizations. A Requiem Mass for the Unborn will be held at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels at 5 p.m.

Featured speakers will include Nick Vujicic, founder of Life Without Limbs. Vujicic will share his struggle to cope with being born without limbs and finding the strength to live a full life.

Patricia Heaton, award-winning actress of “Everybody Loves Raymond,” will also speak at the event, along with Jenna Gassew and Dan Haley, parents of Shane, the “Bucket List Baby,” who was born with the birth defect Anencephaly and whose short life was celebrated beginning in the womb and documented via the Facebook page “Prayers for Shane.” Other speakers will include Mama Hill, James J. Hanson and Lianna Rebolledo.
